Supporting NZE Achievement, Shinhan Bank Indonesia Joins IFC Green Commercial Bank Alliance
Shinhan Bank Indonesia officially joined the Alliance for Green Commercial Banks (Alliance). The Alliance is a global initiative led by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The collaborative platform connects commercial banks in emerging markets with global financial institutions and key industry leaders to promote green banking. The Alliance supports the transition to sustainable finance in countries most in need through knowledge sharing, leadership development, and community building.
President Director of Shinhan Bank Indonesia Koo Hyunghoe stated that his party's participation in the Alliance is an important step to strengthen the company's green banking capabilities. “Going forward, we will increasingly focus on environmentally friendly projects, such as renewable energy and energy efficiency to support Indonesia's Net-Zero Emission (NZE) target,” he said through a press release received by Kompas.com, Monday (June 30, 2025). Shinhan Bank Indonesia commenced full operations in 2016. The bank continues to pursue sustainable growth by leveraging its strengths in corporate banking, digital services, foreign exchange, and trade finance.
